Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What system does SSC use to manage my account?
SSC uses the Commit Swimming system (https://www.commitswimming.com). Commit is a swim team management software system that handles everything from rosters, to billing, to meets, and event registration. You will register and set up payment for dues and assessments in Commit. In addition, for each meet SSC attends, you will indicate your swimmer’s participation preference.

What resources are available to help me track my swimmer’s times?
There are a few great apps we recommend.
Meet Mobile – This app is a must for getting meet results. It provides access to meet programs, to include heat sheets, psych sheets, and real-time results. Access to meet results must be purchased as an in-app subscription.
Swimmetry – This free app allows you to track your swimmers progression, monitor rankings and time standards by event, make head to head comparisons with other swimmers, and get the latest swimming news!
What is a technical suit and does my swimmer need one?
A technical swim suit is essentially high-technology swimwear. The materials used are scientifically advanced to help reduce drag in the water. As of September 1, 2020, USA Swimming restricted technical suits for athletes who are ages 12 and under. You can read more about this here: https://www.usaswimming.org/news/2020/08/24/tech-suit-restriction-for-12-and-under-swimmers.
Older swimmers will generally wear their technical suits at championship meets. The sizing for technical may vary. Please refer the sizing instructions specific to the brand before ordering. If you have questions about the type of suit most appropriate for your swimmer, please ask one of the coaches!
What is the requirement for volunteer hours, and how can I fulfill them?
SSC requires all families, after their first year on the team, to complete 20.0 volunteer hours each year. There are many ways you can volunteer to support the team. We always need parents to help run the meets our club hosts. Jobs range from bringing water and snacks; to timing, set-up, and clean-up. In addition, there are a host of other opportunities throughout the year. These may include helping organize apparel orders or attending back-to-school nights to promote the swim club in the community. You may also decide to become involved in the SSC Board. We welcome your involvement and support!
Volunteer hours are tracked by the SSC volunteer Admin. If you have questions about the hours you have worked or would like to know your current volunteer hour balance for the year, please email volunteeradmin@soonerswimclub.com.
